Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Wildlife Watch comes to Wild Thymes

Bird apple feeders using sunflower seeds

Wild Thymes was joined on 14 December 2019 by lots of lovely families who are members of Cornwall Wildlife Trust as part of CWT’s Wildlife Watch programme of events. We made apple bird feeders using sunflower seeds and satsuma pomanders using cloves as well as making christmas decorations using natural materials. The campfire popcorn and hot chocolate warmed us all up as we sat round the campfire and roasted our marshmallows.

Wildlife Watch will be back at Wild Thymes on Sat 21 March where we’ll be create nests and mini-dens; dip-dyeing eggs to take home and playing the Golden Dragon Egg game. To find out more and to book on go to https://www.cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk/wildlifewatch

Dens in the woods

Children are free to choose what they want to do at Forest School. They may want to use the tools or learn a new craft, help get the fire going or play on the swing. What ever is on offer there’s usually at least one den being made!

Here are a few, some all natural, using branches and leaves, other times when it’s raining opting for tarpaulins and rope.
